“Modern life brings us in touch with traumas, great and small, that leave us reacting in ways we would never expect or know how to deal with. EMDR and other adjunctive therapies can help us to better cope and to strengthen our inner resources. In this way, we can move forward with focus, purpose and humanity."

Dr. Karen Alter-Reid is a psychotherapist in private practice and trains mental health clinicians. She is committed to getting the word out that post-traumatic symptoms are treatable and are a normal reaction to abnormal situations. In addition to her passion for working with first responders, she is currently lecturing on locating and healing trans-generational trauma.
